"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!" CLIJSTERS INJURED AFTER SHE SPITS ON HOTEL CLERK Tennis Pro Kim Clijsters strained a ligament running away from an irate hotel clerk this weekend in Munich, Germany. Clijsters arrived in Munich to play in the German Open and was checking into the Munich Four Seasons when the incident occurred. During a routine check in at the hotel, Clijsters spit in the face of a hotel employee while identifying herself at the desk. Clijsters admits that she has had this problem before. "Whenever anyone ask me my name, they usually get a face full of my spit. It's not intentional but just try saying Clijsters without spitting." The hotel clerk chased Clijsters across the lobby where she accidentally tripped over beggar who was on the floor looking for loose change. Clijsters was taken to a local hospital where an MRI revealed the knee sprain. She is tentative for the upcoming French Open but she is aggressively trying to add some letters to her name. Fellow pro Jennifer Capriotti noted, "I think if she added a letter or two, it'll stop the spitting. Why not Kim Clijaster or Kim Clijester or Clijoster?" Everyone seems to be rooting for the likeable Clijsters. Retired tennis pro Bjorn Borg commented, "We've all been spit on by Kim but I still really like her."
