STEINBRENNER HAS HORSE AND TRAINER SHOT

NEW YORK, NY - New York Yankee owner and race horse owner revealed today that his horse, Bellamy Road and trainer, Nick Zito were shot on Saturday evening after the pair failed to win the Kentucky Derby. "I want results and when I don't get the results I want, I take action," Steinbrenner commented. He added, "I pay good money to win and that's the final measuring stick. And if the Yankees don't get out of last place they'll be more executions."

Horse racing observers were shocked at the action. Derby participant, Bailey Foal said, "It's another one of those on again, off again Steinbrenner relationships. Only this time it resulted in the death of two talented athletes."

Steinbrenner announced a new initiative for his Yankee team. "We'll be putting Jeter, Williams, and Rodriguez out to stud in the next couple of months." Instead of developing their future from the draft or farm system, Steinbrenner plans to mate several of his star players with women from the Dominican countryside. GM Brian Cashman noted "that it works in horse racing, why not Major League Baseball."
