Major League Baseball Testing for Steroids: Bonds to be Tested Last

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Mel Antwan, spokesman for Major League Baseball, announced last Thursday that the drug testing of all players has begun.  "Baseball has taken a black eye due to recent allegations and admissions," Antwan said.  "We're hoping that having all players tested will regain the fans confidence in our players being drug free and family friendly."

MLB relased the order in which players were to be tested, and ironically Barry Bonds name came up last.  Bonds as you may recall has been at the center of many allegations of steroid use. "Wow, what a coincidence," Antwan laughed.  "I assure you, the order was strictly by chance."  However when asked how names of college and advanced little leaguer appeared before Bonds, Antwan offered little explanation other than, "I'll look into that."

Based on the current speed of testing players, Bonds is due to be screened in June of 2028.  Antwan added that retired players are exempt.  "Once they walk away from the game, it's no longer our business."
