Ohio State Athletic Department Under Investigation…Again!

COLUMBUS, OH - The NCAA is cracking down again on Andy Gieger and the Ohio State Athletic Department. This time over a mandatory course offered to it’s Division I football players. The course entitled, “Football Players,” is a 6 credit course which the NCAA described as “academically thin.”

Maurice Clarett, the ex-running back took the course and described it this way. “It was a fun class. We would color for a few minutes, have a snack, take a nap, and then it was time for practice.” Clarett and other received an A for the course and was carrying a 4.0 GPA at the time of his exiting the OSU program.

Professor Mark Eaze, described the course the attack on the course, as just another attempt for the NCAA to flex it’s muscle. “The course stands up to rigorous academic scrutiny.” NCAA President Myles Brand acknowledged “that I wouldn’t have a problem with the course if maybe the students were read a story before the nap.”

Ohio State student athlete Jim 'legs' Ottowski excelling in Freshman course: Make Funny Faces 101.  This course is available only to the football team.
