Hootie Johnson Shock's Masters AUGUSTA, GA - A shock went through the gold world when Augusta National Chairman, Hootie Johnson, announced that he was stepping down to dedicate himself to his music career. Johnson, the part-time front man for "Hootie and the Blowfish" said it was time for him "to put the Master's behind him and move on with his life." He added, "The Master's is a great tournament and but man, these old southern coots are square, I want to rock." Johnson, just last year was involved in a bitter controversy with feminists over Augusta's exclusion of women as members. He reached out to former adversary Martha Burk by saying, "Martha, I want to be your love slave." Johnson tore his Master's "green blazer" to bits in a symbolic gesture screaming, "let's get the party started."
