For when you must scratch that Sports Itch

GREENVILLE, NC - East Carolina University fired basketball coach, Bill Herrion, last week for not showing up. Herrion was given a six year contract in 1999 but never showed up. Herrion explained, "I couldn't find East Carolina. First I went to North Carolina, then I went to South Carolina. No one knew there was an East Carolina." Herrion tried renting a boat and cruising the Atlantic but gave up when his boat landed on the coast of West Africa in the Republic of Togo.

Herrion further said, "I feel real bad about not showing up but Togo's a really cool place. They eat alot of raw fish."

University officials said they weren't surprised by the mix up. University President,  Bob Bigelow, stated, "It gets really crazy sometimes. We have students who don't know how to find us and they're still paying tuition. Maybe we ought make a new state or something."

Herrion agreed to give all the salary back to the University. East Carolina Athletic Director said that they would call off the search for Herrion and begin anew.
