Dancing at University of Phoenix

NEW YORK, NY - "Wow, that was quite a mistake we made," said NCAA Tournament Committee Chairman Doug Edelmann.  "I guess we kinda blew it."

Edelmann was referring to the #3 seed in the Chicago bracket in the 2005 NCAA Tournament.  "I swear, we thought that was Arizona."

The solution seems simple: just change the invitation from University of Phoenix to Arizona.  But not so fast.  You see, the NCAA adopted Rule 15439 which prevents any changes to the invited schools after the initial invitations go out.  Known as the 'Notre Dame' rule, 15439 prevents powerful, network owning, highly influential schools from forcing their way into the tournament.

"We'd like to apologize to the students and fans of Arizona." Said Edelmann.  " But perhaps they can get behind an underdog like Phoenix.

An on-line university, the University of Phoenix does not actually have a basketball team.  But all is not lost.  In order to accomodate the University of Phoenix, their games will be allowed to be played on Sony's Playstation.

"We'll kick their butts", chortled Arnold Thomas Seiter, a sophomore at the University of Phoenix who will be playing the role of starting center.
