California - The place to Commit a Serious Crime by Anita Seervold

OJ?  Robert Blake?  Michael Jackson?  Odds are that one of them did it.  All three found not guilty?  Come on, what do you have to do to get a conviction of a celebrity in California?

Ok, I understand Jackson not being found guilty.  The accusers are scumbags.  OJ had terrible prosecuting attorneys who have ironically made millions off of failing.  I'm not sure what else was needed in Robert Blake's case because I didn't follow all that closely.

Going back to the days of the police beating Rodney King being found not guilty, California has a terrible reputation of just not wanting to send those who break the law to jail.  Speaking of which, King was arrested after driving drunk at 100+mph through a residential neighborhood.  How much jail time did he do?  You say the charges were dropped?!?  Well, at least he took a beating.

The fact is that jurors are not our best and brightest.  They are basically those who have nothing else going on in their lives.  They can't use excuses to get out of what is otherwise torture.  These are not smart people.  So just because OJ's blood soaked, leather gloves shrank, he must be innocent.  Forget all the other evidence.

Listen Californians: we know you're wacky.  You seem proud of it on some level.  But come on, convict somebody already.
