ARKANSAS INTRODUCES NEW SPORT In an effort to control it's overrunning deer population, the Arkansas Game Commission has added a new twist to next year's hunting season. Hunters will be given free shot puts and will be able to target as many deer as they can kill. Game Commissioner Ray Clinton explained, "When you think about it, we give shotguns to a lot of stupid people and every year about a thousand people get shot by accident. So if we just let the hunters sneak up on the deer and throw a shot put ball, we gonna save lives and thin out the deer population." Already hunters are flocking to Arkansas to try out the new sport. Horace Winslow traded in his shotgun for a ten pound shot put and likes the results. "It's kinda like being on the track team again," he said after bagging a 8 point buck. "The deer think you're just having a dumb old track meet and then pow, you knock with a good throw, it's real fun," said the smiling Winslow.
