Psychosis Costs Canadians Pairs Title

BERLIN, GERMANY - Katie and Eric Spencer of Toronto Canada were odds on favorites to win the World Pairs Figure Skating Championship last weekend.  Unfortunately, Eric, already on medication to "calm his nerves" finally snapped during the competition in a fit of what doctors have described as extreme paranoia.

"He kept saying to me 'they're watching...I know their watching'" sobbed Katie from her dressing room.  "I told him of course people were watching, but I don't think that's what he meant."

Everything was fine until the 2nd minute of the routine.  "He started screaming that they were following him.  When I asked who, he couldn't say.  Then he said he could hear their footsteps.  There was nothing I could do," Katie told reporters.

"Finally, he told me he was the spirit of an Indian tracker and could figure out who was following by listening to their footsteps."

The Zamboni had to be utilized to scrape Eric Spencer's frozen body from the ice.  He was taken to Adolph Hitler Memorial Mental Hospital in Berlin for observation
