GOLFER LOSES FINGERS IN SAUDI GOLF TOURNEY Senior PGA tour player, Ralph Buzby, learned a valuable lesson this week at the Senior Desert Classic held in Ridayh, Saudi Arabia. While checking in the pro shop, Busby reached into a jar containing tees, thinking the tees were free for the taking. Not being able to read Arabic, Buzby failed to see that a handful of tees went for the equivalent of a dollar per handful. A simple "I'm sorry" wouldn't do the trick. Buzby was taken to a nearby public arena where several of his fingers were chopped off. Buzby, a gregarious 56 year old pro from Sandusky, Ohio had a good natured take on the whole experience. "From now on, I'm brushing up on my Arabic," said the joking Busby after carding a 156 on his final round. "I couldn't believe the difference in playing without a couple of fingers. It really changed my grip." Tournament officials said the stiff penalty for stealing tees is necessary in a country that has plenty of oil but is experiencing their worst tee shortage in 50 years.
