UNC Takes Illinois' Cake

ST. LOUIS, MO - "I had a nice cake ready for my players for after the game," said Illini coach Bruce Weber.  "But they (North Carolina Tarheels) ate it."

Weber was referring to the fact that North Carolina added insult to injury by beating #1 ranked Illinois in the National Championship game, then went to the Illini locker room and ate all their food.

"It was like junior high all over for me," said Weber.  "Bigger kids used to push me down and take my lunch.  This was almost the same thing."

North Carolina officials offered no apology, but stated that the cake was "delicious" and referred to the Illini as "their bitches".
