Stop Whining and Move On!
by Anita Seervold Not long ago, Carre Otis was a fashion model. Then she decided she wanted to eat; a lot. So she gained a ton of weight. Good for her. She should have been happy with it and moved on. But no. She still wanted to be a model. Even though she had become a genuine lard butt. So she whined and complained to the media about how unfair it is that she wanted to be a model but she still wanted to eat. So she got a job as a plus-sized model. She should have been happy with it and moved on. But no. Now Ms. Otis is fighting back against the industry for making her be thin and somewhat attractive. Arguing that she was a tank trapped in a model’s body for years, Ms. Otis is claiming that the modeling industry forces women to be thin. Duh! What are you – stupid? Of course the modeling industry wants thin women. You have a choice to make: be a model and don’t eat, or eat and do something else. Who are you to want it both ways and when you don’t get it, cry about how unfair things are. Boo-hoo sweetie. Deal with it. Let’s look at YOUR insanity in other professions, shall we? I really want to be a bank teller, but I don’t want to handle money. I want to be an actor, but I hate getting in front of an audience or camera. Here’s one – I deserve to be a football player, but it’s really unhealthy the way I keep getting hit all the time. It’s so unfair of the NFL to put me in a dangerous position like that. Listen, it’s called ‘that’s the way it is’. Modeling agents want thin women. If you are not naturally thin, then you have a choice to make. No one has a gun to your head. If you just can’t push that 3rd doughnut away, then maybe modeling isn’t the life for you. You are not entitled to be a model. You chose to be one, then whined when things got tough for you. It’s time to move on. Try a profession that you may be better at. I don’t know, more along the lines of what your genetics seem to be able to handle. How about food taster? And learn how to spell 'Carrie'! |
