BILLY PACKER: BASKETBALL ANALYST OR McDONALD'S PLANT? CBS sportscaster Billy Packer has come under fired for allegedly conspiring with the McDonald's corporation to deliver subliminal advertising during the NCAA telecast in St. Louis. Consumer watchdog and ex-presidential candidate, Ralph Nader claims that during the contest, Packer mumbled McDonald's advertising slogans simultaneously with each showing of the St. Louis "Gateway Arch." Packer called the allegations just plain dumb. Packer responded by saying, "Hey I'm just a stupid bald guy who doesn't know squat about basketball. CBS pays me to talk too much and generally annoy the shit out of the television audience." Nader claims that if you play the telecast backwards in slow motion you can hear Packer saying, "Happy Meal" and "Fries?" McDonald spokeperson, Bob Kroc said, "Okay sales were up three thousand percent during the telecast."
