OJ Denies Involvement in Pope's Death

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – OJ Simpson looked exhausted yesterday as he faced the media outside the Hyatt Regency Hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida.  “I tell you – I’ve never even been to Italy.”

Not long after Pope John Paul II passed away, eyes turned to Simpson.  “I swear I didn’t kill her…I mean him.”

Simpson has come under scrutiny after allegedly killing his wife and an innocent bystander over 10 years ago.  Simpson was acquitted by a semi-retarded jury, but found liable of the murders in civil court.  Since he is free, all deaths seem suspicious.

“He wears Bruno Mali shoes.  He knows something,” said Cardinal Carroll O’Connor of Miami.  “We need to look into this more closely before he is no longer considered a ‘person of interest’ in the Pope’s death.”

“But he died of natural causes,” argued Simpson.  “And people were there to watch him die.  I have no idea how Nicole’s blood got in my car.  I mean, I didn’t kill the Pope.

Simpson was eager to prove his innocence.  “I will take a lie detector.  And this time it will show that I’m telling the truth.”

Simpson was brought in for questioning, but was released after 24 hours by police.
