Make A Wish Boy requests Home Run

ST. LOUIS, MO - Timmy Longfield of Battle Creek, Michigan was finally able to get his wish come true.  Sort of.

Timmy is in the Make a Wish Foundation, a charitable organization who grants wishes to dying children.  In December 2004, Timmy wished to be able to meet the NCAA finalists before the game.  Wheeled first into the North Carolina locker room, he met with Sean May and Reymond Felton.

However, in the Illinois locker room, things got a little strange. “He wanted me to hit a home run for him.  I mean, what the hell?” said Illinois forward Roger Powell.  “This ain’t no damn baseball.”

Later, Timmy’s mother Ellen Longfield confessed that when Timmy made the wish in December, he meant world series.  “He’s just not very smart.  But considering he’s dying and all, my husband and I don’t correct him very often.”
