NCAA TO ADD TO EXTEND BASKETBALL SEASON

The NCAA announced today that it would allow Division I basketball programs to add up to 100 games to their current schedules. With so many players leaving college basketball for the NBA, NCAA officials decided it was a wise economic move to add more games.

NCAA President Myles Brand explained, "We give these kids a scholarship and then we can't make any money off them. After all, this is the whole point of the NCAA." Now schools can actually fit an entire four year schedule into one season effectively re-couping their investment.

Athletic directors across the country expressed appreciation to Brand for enhancing their bottom line. Len D. Mony of UNC said, "Sh%t we just lost our whole friggin' team. It's about time we started paybacks. They've just been using us for years and now it's our turn."
