MITCH ALBOM CONFESSES, "I NEVER VISITED MORRIE"

On the heels of his NCAA reporting scandal, sportswriter Mitch Albom confessed that he never visited with "Morrie," the subject of his book, "Tuesdays with Morrie." Several weeks ago, Albom submitted an article to the Detroit Free Press which mislead readers to believe that two NBA players, Jason Richardson and Mateen Cleaves, attended an NCAA Final Four game. The article was written on a Friday for a section that was printed before the game was played. The players never attended the game as was reported leaving Albom in an ethical quandry.

In the aftermath of the mistake, Albom admitted that he's never attended any event he reports on. In a press conference Albom explained, "The way I work is that I know what's going to happen before it happens, so I write it out, put it in the paper like I was actually there, and it usually works out. This time Cleeves and Richardson screwed me up." Later Albom admitted that he never spent Tuesdays with Morrie. In his book, he wrote accounts of conversations with a dying man. Albom said, "I knew he was going to die, so I wrote about what he would probably say if I did talk to him. People liked it, I sold a lot of books and made big money."

Morrie's wife, Mrs. Morrie said, "Mitch who, never heard of him." Later Albom further stated that the
"Five People You'll Meet In Heaven," was made up too. "I've never been to heaven," Albom explained. "But if I went there, these would probably be the people I'd meet."
