NY Rangers to Fold...And Press Laundry NEW YORK, NY - Rangers Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Player Personnel Don Maloney announced that the NY Rangers players have opened a Laundromat in midtown Manhattan in an effort to help pay bills during the strike. Despite being the highest paid team in the league, the Rangers are struggling to to high rents and questionable lifestyles. "Sprewell can't pay his bills?" asks Ranger defenseman Darius Kasparaitis. "I haven't gotten a paycheck since before last year's playoffs," referring to the fact the Rangers just don't make it to post season play anymore. "I need to feed my family," said center Bobby Holik. "I'm qualified to hit a hard piece of rubber with a stick. What other job could I do?" The Rangers expect to compete seriously with the Chinese Laundromats, currently dominating the Manhattan laundry scene.
