Bush to Send Rangers to Iraq

ARLINGTON, TX - In a bold political move, President Bush has called up the Texas Rangers to serve in Iraq. Bush speaking from his Texas ranch said,  "Hey, I was the CEO for the Rangers and I still have a pretty good relationship with the ballplayers. They're good ballplayers and they love freedom, love to fight for freedom, like to play baseball for freedom."

The Rangers diverted from spring training will play 12 games in Baghdad, Mosal, and Fallujah. Bush added, "Iraqis love freedom, want freedom, and want democracy." The Rangers will be involved in an exchange program, where insurgents will trade grenade launchers for baseball gloves. Bud Selig adding support to the venture, said, "We see stadiums going up, maybe two divisions with playoffs." Vice President Cheney called it, "visionary leadership" on the part of the President. He further stated that, "this administration has been on the cutting edge of new democracies and what says democracy better than baseball."

Said Rangers manager Buck Showalter tell us, "The President told us to think of Iraqis as Americans with more linen."
