Does this Hockey Strike Make My Ass Look Big?
by Anita Seervold Football is over; baseball hasn't started yet; college basketball won't be interesting for another 2 weeks and pro basketball isn't interesting. With all this in mind and typical for this time of year, my husband would usually pass the time by watching pro hockey - grown men hitting each other with sticks. But this year there is no hockey, and I see him slumped in the chair in front of the tv. As long as he's quiet, I tend to just let him sit there. but that's not what's been going on lately. He's starting to take an interest in me. He has asked if I've changed my hair since we've been married (I have 3 times and he's never noticed). He's asked if we have kids (we do - a boy and a girl). And just yesterday, he's asked if I've gained weight (none of your business). The fact is I have grown perfectly happy with him paying little or no attention to me. now that I know he's looking gain, I feel completely self conscious. I went shopping for black slacks this morning, and I'm right now wearing my tights with a big t-shirt covering my butt. And we all know wearing shirts that hang down over our butts make them look smaller, right ladies? Let's get this strike over with fast, or get another interesting sport going, or else I will need a whole new wardrobe, plastic surgery, or God forbid I might need to exercise. My daughter says I should just accept myself for who I am and not worry about getting bigger. She's so young...
