Valentine's Love Advice - Take Your Man to Watch Women's Gymnasts
by Anita Seervold

For the past 3 Valentine's day, I've been doing the same thing: I find a college gymnastics meet and bring my husband.  Boring?  Oh, the contrary.  My husband is excited to go and even more excited when we get home, if you know what I mean.

It all started when my niece was in high school and joined their gymnastics team.  My sister gave me tickets and I brought my husband.  I thought he'd prefer to stay home, but when I specified it was women's gymnastic performed by 16-18 year old girls wearing those little outfits, he seemed interested.

Well, he loves the sport now.  I can't even talk to him during a match.  He won't even put those binoculars down!  He's so into the competition, he doesn't want to miss a thing.  In fact, he's gotten so into it, he gets tickets to all the matches he can.  He doesn't even follow a particular school; any meet he can get to is fine by him.  And nowadays, he doesn't even ask me to go with him anymore.

I think it's the spirit of competition, combined with highly trained gymnastic skills that has him so involved.  He loves the pageantry and appreciates the hard work and hours of training that goes into each competition.  Strange he doesn't like men's gymnastics, though.

Anyway, take my advice and take your man to a women's gymnastics meet for a Valentine's day present.  It worked for us.
