Peyton Manning Finally Beat Patriots...In His Dream
Monday March 10, 2008
Peyton Manning...Dreamweaver

Peyton Manning could not find a way to beat the New England Patriots.  Until now.

"I was on," said a jubilant Manning.  "Every pass was a touchdown.  I think Reggie caught 11."  Manning even had a 91 yard scramble for a touchdown.

Peyton Manning...Dreamweaver

Unfortunately you couldn't see this game; none of us could.  It was all a dream of Peyton's. "I had a Shirley Temple before going to bed.  I wanted to relax after a hard day of filming a new embarrassing Visa commercial.  Plus I'm still a little bummed about losing."

Once Manning closed his eyes, the magic started.  "The receivers were all wide open.  I threw some great blocks for Edge (Edgerrin James).  On one play I followed Edge out of bounds and punched (Patriots head coach Bill) Belichick in the back of the head."

But even in Manning's dreams, the Patriots are a tough nut to crack.  "As well as we were playing, for some reason it came down to the last play.  I scrambled right, saw Marvin come open, so I let it fly.  Teddy Bruschi jumped about 10 feet in the air to intercept, but the ball went right through him.  Marvin caught it and we won.  It was cool.  Then I woke up."

"I wouldn't know...I wasn't there, "said Colts receiver Marvin Harrison.  He added that he thought it was odd of teammate Manning to call a press conference to talk about his dream.  "Usually he just bores us".

Patriots coach Bill Belichick was unavailable for comment.  a team spokesman said the coach would not press charges for the punching incident.
