Brady on Eagles: "We were F^%$ing with them!" Monday March 10, 2008 JACKSONVILLE, FL - Tom Brady may be a terrific clutch quarterback, but boy is he a dick. The Patriots, heavily favored to beat the Eagles in superbowl 39, started slowly and seemed lucky to be tied at halftime. After falling behind 7 - 0 in the second quarter, the Patriots went on to outscore the Eagles 24-14 the rest of the way to earn their 3 superbowl in 4 years. But according to New England quarterback Tom Brady, they planned it that way. "It was coach Belichick's idea to leave them in the game. He even told us to let them score first and make their fans think they had a chance." The game plan was not without problems. "We'd practically be laying down for them, but then they'd turn the ball over to us. We'd pretend to go 3 and out, and then they'd fall on their faces again. We totally underestimated how much they suck." The Eagles did finally break through, going up 7 - 0. "I was like, 'finally'. Now we can go on with business." The Patriots didn't stop messing with the Eagles there. They picked up again in the 4th quarter. "The game was over. They were running out the clock for us, those idiots," Brady said. "I said to Bill, 'hey, let's leave someone open in the end zone, just for kicks. He thought it was funny, too. So we did." "Of course after we let them get back to within 3, we crushed them like ants. But it was fun, wasn't it?"
