City
of Boston Explodes with Celtic Win Monday March 10, 2008 Boston, MA - Celtic fans poured into the street late last evening as the Boston Celtics topped the Minnesota Timberwolves in what otherwise may have seemed like a meaningless regular season game. Bostonians dressed in red, white and blue, shouting something about Patriotism, emptied homes and bars and blocked traffic in several major intersections, reminding this reporter of the emotion given off when the Red Sox defeated the Yankees to move into the 2004 world Series. "This if %^%& awesome!" yelled one unidentified fan, obviously reveling in a Celtic victory. We are the City of Champions. Although confusing, his remarks of being a City of Champions most likely refers to the fact that the Celtics have won a lot of Championships in the past. City officials are said to be planning a parade for the winning team. Although it is a little hard to understand why an otherwise meaningless regular season win would evoke such a reaction. But hey, everyone loves a parade.
